I am trying to find any information on Rev. Father James Maxwell, who is said to have founded the first school in the area. I also found he may have been the Vicar General of Louisiana, if not it is quite a coincidence to have another James Maxwell in the area in the late 1700's.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am looking for info on what I hope are his two nephews, John and Hugh Maxwell, but think this might lead me to family origins.
