Thanks, Jim, for checking your books. My Elliotts are spelled with 2 T's, however.
I do know that they were there in that county in 1850 because I found Margaret Elliott with 2 sons (Abraham and Docton) on the 1850 census records. I guess I just need to go over to that county and check out some land records, etc. at the court house.
