Doctor Hardy
Posted by: Hardy Pottinger (ID *****3543) Date: December 11, 2010 at 08:21:03

Does anyone have information regarding a possible Dr. Hardy who may have lived in the Farmington area in 1880's? A family tradition claims the origin of my name is from the doctor who delivered my grandfather Hardy. The 1880 census shows a Collen Hardy family in St. Francois county but he is a farm laborer, possibly a friend or neighbor of my great grandfather but probably not a doctor. Interestingly enough, there were a number of slightly older contemporaries of my grandfather who also had the first name of Hardy in the area! If anyone has information regarding my 'Dr Hardy' or the origin of any of these other 'first name Hardy's', I'd appreciate hearing from you.
