WIMS, FREDA F. MEYER, 86, of Ellisville, MO, formerly of Cedar Rapids, IA, died Saturday, May 4, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, MO, following a brief illness. Service 10:00 a.m., Friday at TURNER WEST Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids; where friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Thursday. Burial Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Surviving are two sons, Larry A. Wims and wife, Jackie of Valencia, CA and Earl W. Wims and wife, Rita of St. Albans, MO; 9 grandchildren, Angela Woodruff and husband, James, Julie Heinemann and husband, Tim, Paula Shanahan and husband, Michael Jr., Therese Washburn and husband, Grant, Loren Wims, Noel Wims, Wendy Boyd and husband, Dan, Paul Wims and wife, Patti and Brett Wims and wife, Jean; and 18 great-grandchildren. Freda was born November 4, 1915, in Mt. Vernon, IL, the beloved daughter of Earl and Iva Austin Fisher. She married Winford W. Wims on November 14, 1935. He died in 1977. On September 8, 1987 she married James W. Meyer. He also preceded her in death. Freda was an inspector at Cry O Vac for 29 years and was a member of St. Peter's Christian Church in St. Peters, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
