Hi Howard, yes Elizabeth is "interesting", to say the least! She married Wm A Wood in Pocahontas county, IA and they moved to Kingfisher, OK. Wm died in 1895 in his 30's. I haven't found proof but I think she married Virgil Harbaugh, in OK I "assume". She is visiting her mother in Pocahontas county for the 1900 census and is known as Mrs Harbaugh. Then she must have married a Hoffman to then be known as Elizabeth Hoffman when she married Scarsdale.
I have narrowed her dod to after 1930 census to 1939 when my ggrandfather -her brother- died and she is not mentioned in his obit. She has certainly passed away by 1941 when another brother dies and her share goes to her children. Her surname was Wells.
She could be buried in CA as at least one daughter lived there, but the daughter is elusive also. Possibly in Kingfisher next to 1st husband, but I haven't found her there. Maybe in IA, but I don't think so. She must not have died in MO as she is not in the death index.
She's a mystery!
