I just found the 1857 Patterson Letter on the website of Ripley Co MoGenWeb (http://www.rootsweb.com/~moripley/index.htm) and was very excited when I realized that the R. A. PATTERSON who sent the letter is my ancestor, Robert A. PATTERSON. I tried to contact Linda Davis, who owns the letter, and Jackie Wood, who put the transcription of the letter on the website, but both of their web addresses aren't working. I was wondering if anyone on this meassage board can help me get in touch with either of them. I would suspect that, if Linda Davis has this letter, she may have other items that relate to the PATTERSON family. I am especially interested in finding a "large bible" that Robert A. PATTERSON purchased from his father's estate. This may be the type of bible that is more rugged than most and would have been more likely to survive and be saved for posterity. I asked a couple of the historical societies around Ripley County about this bible but it hadn't been donated to either of them.
If people feel uncomfortable giving me a new web address for Linda Davis or Jackie Wood, perhaps it would work if either of the two gals would contact me rather than the other way around. That would be fine with me. I am very excited about the prospect of getting other information about the PATTERSON family that may not be possible to get without corresponding with Linda Davis especially. Thanks very much for any help that anyone can give me with this problem.
