Looking for info on James Walker Gordon, b. 02 Feb 1867, married to Sarah J. Berry b. Jul 1871, listed with children
Sarah B. 13, Nellie 10, Samuel A. 6, Mehela A. 3, Elmer R. 1 3/12.
Sarah is listed as having had 9 children and 7 are still alive. Besides the five listed, there was Nina born Jan 1892 who was married by the 1910 census, and Minnie B. born July 1889. I have information on Nina, but none on the rest of this family. I think Sarah J. died December 1910, right after this census was taken. The story was that James Walker left the smaller children with Nina and her husband, Abe Bumgardner, and it is possible the baby boy died. Sure hope someone can connect with some of these children. One of the sisters was reported to have moved to Memphis, TN. Mahala was reported to have changed her name, and is possibly listed as Mrs. Sally Mays of Benton Harbor Michigan, in 1960, at the time of Nina's death.
