In the census of 1900 Indiana, Warrick County, Owen township you can find my great grandmother Easter Phelps Dorsey and on the census it says her father was born in Virginia and her mother was born in Kentucky. My mom has always told me that her grandparents were from Indiana. My mom was born in Illinois and they had alot of family in Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri. I was born in Missouri but my family moved from there to California when I was five and we really never kept in touch with too many of the relatives after that. Since my mom's parents died when she was young she doesn't remember too much about her mom's parents. Mom is 87 and has parkinson's disease so now she remembers even less about her family. She was raised by folks on her fathers side. After her mother died she said she only saw her grandparents (mom's side) one time after that.

The information you sent to me doesn't look familiar but that doesn't mean anything. I did see the name Elmeda and my grandmother's name was Elmeda or Almeda Dorsey Teal and they called her Ellen. She was married to Mack Teal, Jr. They are both buried at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Saline Co., Illinois. I know this for a fact since my mom and my aunt bought a new headstone for about 20 years ago.

One other thing my mom told me years ago is that the family called her great grandmother a mean old Indian. This family is hard to research.
