I am searching for any information on any member of these family's from Ripley and Carter County's of Missouri. I am at a dead stop. I have them buried in Macodonia and Oak Grove Cemetery's. My ggrandmother Patterson was to have been part indian. She has family buried in Bellview Cemetery.I have been unable to get much information on the Patterson's. I have reached a lady who states her ancestor left Ripley Co. and went to Texas. She has a letter belonging to the sister from her brother Andrew in Missouri. I believe that John Patterson to be my gggrandfather. I need someone who knows something about the family there to help me. Story does go that my ggrandmother was found after someone or a group of someones came in and killed the whole village or family. The mystery remains. Would appreciate any help on this issue. My ggrandmother Margaret Patterson Boshears Taylor was a very colorful character.Going from Part Indian to preacher's wife to bootlegger to settled down. Patterson Family that is related grew up off K highway and lived next door to the Boshears.
The Boshears Family just as colorful. Rodney Boshears Preacher, rode horseback around Preaching,Preached in the Oak Grove Church (Sullivan) he was married to Margaret Patterson. Some of there children were very active into anything and everything it seems. I am sure that there would be several newspaper articles on at least Ezra Boshears escapades. Arch Boshears married Lizzie Franklin.Of this union comes my father Carl Reeves Boshears .My father not speaking much of his past. I have come to respect him to the utmost. Joining the Army at age 17 served in France and Central Europe. Retuned home with 3 Bronze Stars., His brother Carter serving in Germany returned Home with 1 Bronze Star, brother James (Jack) served in Panama. My Great Aunt Pearl Franklin taught school to many in the Ripley and Van Buren area.Theo Franklin owned a Hotel in the Van Buren area I believe I have the correct area. There is history out there on these family's and I am searching for someone who has a connection and knowlege and willing to share what you have. Other names connected with these family's are Odom and Emmon's. Thanks for any help. As a young child I vivited the Odom Store. A lady there had tried to tell me of my ggaunt that had married an Odum. I was to young to appreciate the knowledge. Her name was Amanda Jane Boshears Odum, Later marring an Emmons I believe. Thanks gor any help. bettyphillipsb@aol.com
