William Swiney/Swinney Ripley Co MO 1860

Does anyone have any information on what became of William Swiney, 34, who appears in the Johnson Township area of Ripley County MO in the 1860 census? He is living next to his brother in law, James Powell, and James is next to William's sister Susan Crook, and their respective families.

William's household consists of Mary, ten years his junior and born in KY, son William Allen, 12, and daughter Emily Jane, 10.
When last seen on the 1850 Tennessee census, he was still married to Rebecca Jane (Cook) and their son Monroe W., and daughters Nancy and Minerva, were all present with William and William Allen. (Emily was born after the 1850 census.)

William and Susan's brother, Adolphus, was living in Ripley County in 1859, according to the BLM land records, but he returned to TN for the 1860 census and was living with his parents.

Susan and her family remained in MO.

Emily was married in Marshall County TN in 1844, and William Allen was married in Giles County TN in 1869.
Did William return to TN as well, or just the two kids?

What became of Rebecca and the other children? Did they die in Marshall County? Missouri?

Intriguingly, there is a marriage record in 1869 for William A. Swiney and Rebecca J. Phillips.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Swiney Hunting at the best of times is a trial by ordeal. Now to find they went state hopping....
