I have a "declaration" for a Rev War pension for one William Brown, filed in Ralls County on 6 August A. D. 1835, then a resident of Ralls County, and aged 74 years.
In this "declaration" he names his various tours in the war, and also states that he was born in Fairfax Co., VA in 1760, that he enlisted in Bedford Co., VA .. lived for a time in KY, and then moved to Ralls County. Witnesses to this affidavit were Hanceford Brown, Dabney Jones, Walter Caldwell, John A. Boarman & Joseph Wright. Joseph Wright was a son-in-law of William R. Brown mentioned following.
This is very confusing, as I've not thus far been able to identify this man, whose records is very similar to another filed by William R. Brown in Ste. Genevieve, Co., MO who is my ancestor, and who is listed in the 1840 census as a pensioner.
