Hello Sandy,

I hope you can read this and that your e-mail address is still current.

Curious about your Whitsell name.

This past week I was at Quincy,Adams,IL courthouse for the death cert of my G-Uncle's wife:

Esther Yetts Logan Schwindeler
Born 31 Mar 1887 in Mendota,Putnam,MO
Died 15 Oct 1931 Quincy,Adams,IL
Daughter of Thomas Logan and unknown mother.

Received Esther and Louis' 2 Dec 1909 marriage license from Keokuk,Lee,IA
Louis J. Schwindeler and Esther Y. Logan
She listed her parents as:
Thomas Y. Logan
Anna Widsele

I couldn't find a thing about this name Widsele so I'm thinking it was possibly misspelled.

Thomas and Anna "Annie" were both born in Scotland.
They came to the United States in 1881 and settled in Unionville,Putnam,MO.

So, I visited the GenForum Putnam County,MO message board...with no luck.
But while searching there, I spotted your last name.

Thomas Y. Logan's 1927 Quincy,Adams,IL death cert informant was his wife:
Christine Pollock Logan.

1910 Centerville,Appanoose,IA Census
701 Eat Maple Street
Thomas Logan head (age 57 Scotland 1881) coal miner and Anna (age 58 Scotland 1901) Logan
Married 10 years....2nd married for both.
Anna gave birth to 7 children with only 2 living.
Thomas and Anna were living alone, no children and I spotted no other Logan names near them.
Their daughter Agnes Logan Beall (husband Claud) were also living in Centerville,Appanoose,IA.
I have their census record.

Here's hoping you can identify with this family. Will appreciate any help / advice.
