Leroy Francis Cox was the eldest child of Samuel Graham & Clarissa Jane Coffrin Cox. There were nine children in the family. Leroy married Elizabeth Elender Edwards on4 Feb 1866 and they had eight children. My grandfather was a member of their household in Putnam Co. MO for about seven years after being orphaned and Leroy thought that he needed a good home rather than bumping around. The older girls in the family did not realize that he was not a brother as he was treated like a member of the family. They moved to Shattuck OK in 1899. For a number of years a Cox Reunion was held and my grandfather and his family were included in this reunion. If there was any real blood relationship with my Grandfather, I do not know. His name was James Henry Clark. His father died before he was born in Appanoose Co. IA. He lived with his grandparents, Fleenor, for a few years. He came to Pocahontas Co IA in 1892, first working for a brother to Mrs. Cox. I really have very little on this family. But the children's birthdates of the Cox children.
