Scobee in Putnam & Adair Counties

An old broken tombstone lies under some cement blocks behind a building at Novinger, Missouri. The owners of the property would like to locate descendants of the deceased before discarding it. The origin of the stone is unknown.

Although the tombstone is broken, the given name clearly ends in “HN” (John, no doubt). The surname clearly begins with “SC” then the next letter is consistent with the upper half of the letter “O” and the upper half of next letter is consistent with the letter “B.” (The surname is probably “Scobee.” The death date is clearly given as “NOV 21, 1896” and the words “Aged 87 y 9m 7d.” If anyone wants this stone, please advise me and I will get that person in contact with the proper persons.
