Mary - I too would appreciate any information you could share about Cookville or Bloodland - I descend from the Schaap's of that area.
Ken - I dialoged with you some time ago but had no real information for you at that time. Since, I stopped in the library in Crocker, MO can came across a book titled, "Forty-leven Stories About Forty Leven people" by William Lawrence York. On Page 163 there is a photo of the house that you and Mary may be referring to in Cookville - it notes the most recent residents before it's destruction by the fort as "Hicks". There is also a photo of the general store/post office. I appear to have misplaced your e-mail address - if you care to share, I will attempt to upload this particular page to your e-mail should the book be available only locally.
