Rebecca (Greenwood) had been married prior to James Adkisson (listed as Atkins on the 1850 census) and James died very young (early 30s) and had 3 children: William, Granville Solomon, and James Robert. The 3 boys went to foster homes by the 1870 census. William Adkison went to live in Arkansas with someone. The other two boys stayed in Pulaski Cty one with the White family and one with the Story family. They lived close together and these two families were actually kin as in-laws (Mrs. White was a Story before she married).

Levi enlisted as a Private in Company H, 32nd Missouri Infantry on August 9, 1862 and was listed as being on the hospital boat Isabelle in 1863 and was mustered out in Louisville, KY in 1865. Levi was 42 when he enlisted. According to his military file, Levi stood 5’9 had green eyes, brown hair, and light complexion. Levi died about 1872.

Do you have any additional info on this family?
