Leander Whitfield Jones

I am researching my ggg Grandfather on my Dads side. His name was Leander Whitfield Jones. He and his brother Marvel Monfort Jones supposedly came from Tennessee or North Carolina. They were orphans travelling with Epaphroditus Gilliam in route to Missouri sometime around 1820. They separated from other siblings before this trip. I can't find documentation, except for Leander's bible has the birth and death dates of Epaphroditus and Sarah, and Leander was Living next to Epaphroditus in 1840 in Platte county Missouri. Any info. you could provide would be extremely helpful, because this has been a mystery to the family for many years.

Leander married Sarah Nancy Potter, and when she died in childbirth, he
then married her sister Elizabeth Banks Potter. Marvel married
Barshaway Potter, another sister. I believe Marvel's birth and death
info. is in Leander's Bible. There is also a record of Leander and
Marvel buying 160 acres in clay county, MO in 1831, before moving with
Epaphroditus Gilliam into Platte county, MO in 1835.

"1-6-1997 RDKone@aol.com Cindy Wilbur:
Leander Whitfield JONES was an early pioneer physician of Clay, Platte
and Gentry county, Missouri. He was born about 1809 in NC and came west
on an orphan train. He was married a second time to Elizabeth Potter and
I do not know the name of his first wife. I am looking for more information
about his life and family."
