William Lindsey m. Francis Warden (Paxton) abt 1881 Cooper Co., MO

I am looking for William Lindsey and it seems there are Bill Lindsey's all over!

My information shows Francis Warden was the widow of John Paxton. Francis had 9 children by John. Abt Aug 1877 John died. In the 1880 census for Lebanon TWP, Cooper Co., MO, Francis is listed as widowed, youngest child 8 months old, born in Dec.

Researcher Laura Paxton posted a message stating Francis married William Lindsey Jr. Apr 1881 in Cooper Co., MO. David is their oldest child, born Apr 1885 - 1887 depending on sources. Benjamin M. was born Aug 1888. According to family folklore, there was a daughter Mary born.

By 1900 Francis is widowed yet again. She and Ben are living next to her second oldest son John. Three farms away lives a Johnny Lindsey, related to William or not, I am unsure. Her last name is listed as Burnaugh and I have heard suggestion that she may have married the father of two of her daughter-in-laws. There is a Charles Burnaugh listed (as father-in-law to HOH William) in the 1900 census living with Francis' oldest son William Paxton and Charles' daughter Emma in the same county, not TWP. I belive they (Francis and Charles) may have married in the first 6 mo. of 1900, to explain the dicrepencies, but am theorizing.

In the 1910 census, Frances Burnaugh (63) is widowed and living in Banner TWP, Dewey Co., OK with sons George Paton (26), David Lindsey (23), Ben Lindsey (22)and grandson James Paxton (17). The place of birth for David and Ben's father (William) is noted as Ohio.

Family lore states that the Lindsey's may have been located around the Sedalia area, but no given names are known.

That's it, all I have.
William Lindsey (maybe Jr.) born in OH. May have family in Sedalia abt. 1880's.
Married Francis Warden (Paxton) abt 1881.
Sired 2 boys, maybe 1 girl.
Died by 1900.

Can anyone help me? I'd appreciate any ideas or information. I've hit the proverbial brick wall and would appreciate any assistance.

Auburn, WA
