I am also a descendant of the Bohnert Family, my great grandmother was a Bohnert. I have been researching in the library on and off for about 5 years. I wrote down all of the Bohnerts in Perry County in the census books. I could not find a Bohnert before 1876. But, I did find a BONAR in the 1850 census,
I was thinking it was spelled incorrect. It reads as follows: BONAR, Lucas 35M Germany
Elizabeth 28F Germany
William 4M Missouri
Joseph 3M Missouri
John 1M Missouri

My grandmothers father was Andrew Bohnert, His mothers name was Elizabeth, but I do not have the children that are listed above in my 1876 census.

There is a Bede listed in the 1876 Census:
BOHNERT, Bede 55 M
Christina 60 F

Here are the other Bohnerts listed in the 1876 census,

Barbara
Elizabeth
Ferdinand
Ignatius
Louis
Wm.

Let me know if I can help you.
