Looking for any information on: John W. Childress was a blind broom maker in 1910, Cooter, Pemiscot County, MO census. He had two daughters living with him Anna (born 1898) and Mary Alice (born 1902)who were both born in Cootersville. Mary Alice was sent to an orphanage type facility as a small girl (about 8) somewhere around Pemiscott County. Because of the father's blindness it was difficult for him to care for the children. Does anyone have any knowledge of such a place and if there are any records? She ran away at 16 from the facility and married. I found the following marriage records for John W. Childress in Pemiscot County: John W. Childress and A. E. Mathis (1882-84), p55 Marriage Book 1 John W. Childress and M. E. Prim, 10 Jul 1904 John W. Childress and Charity Reeves 6 Nov 1907 I do not know the name of the daughter's mother. Any burial records for John W. Childress? Notify Administrator about this message?
