Ed and Edith Gentry owned and operated the RICHVILLE STORE in Eastern Douglas County during the depression years of the 1920-30s. During this time period, as a promotional scheme, they gave chinaware as an incentive for your business. On the back of the plates, dishes, etc is this inscription:
"Compliments of J.E. Gentry, Richville MO, We appreciate your trade"...or something similar.
I am in the process of locating as many of these pieces as possible.
If you have any of these pieces or know of any, I would like very much to attempt to buy them. They will be worth more to me than any other person in the world...you see,
Ed and Edith Gentry were my parents.
