I just saw your query and wonder if you have made it to Alton Missouri? I have been to the library on the square many times and and found many interesting wills and probate records for some of the early settlers. The library is open during the week until 5 pm, I don't know if they are open on weekends. The library there has a lot of information about what is available at the court house. The court house records are available across the street during the week and the beauty of it is, they will let you go through the records and copy them for a small per page cost. The records are quite old, they were hidden in caves during the Civil War to keep the Yankees from burning them when they came through the area. Hope this helps in your quest. Sylvia Hathaway ( Snider, Neal, Henderson, Walker descendant)
