Abraham Busby married Mary E. Gibson on October 16th, 1851, in Harrison County, Ohio. Abraham and Mary continued to live in Harrison County, and had 6 children born there between 1853 and 1865. Abraham and Mary moved west, settling in Nodaway County, Missouri around 1867. Abraham and Mary had 4 children after settling in Missouri to include twins in 1870. Mary, Abraham's wife of 24 years died May 19th, 1875 from a horseback riding accident, leaving Abraham to care for 5 minor children. At some point after 1876, Abraham and his children left Nodaway County, and moved west to Nebraska. Abraham died Febuary 19th, 1909 in Thayer County, Nebraska, and his body was reportably sent back to Nodaway County, Missouri, and was buried in Smith Cemetery, where his wife Mary was buried in 1875. As of this time no tombstone has been found for Abraham, possibly because at this time all of his surviving children were living in Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado.
