Looking for information on the family of Thomas A. HUGHES (b. Apr 4, 1865 in ?). Married Agnes LaVerne SWEET (b. 1872) in Council Bluffs, IA on Jan 1, 1892. They are buried in Persia, Iowa. Children in the Iowa area were Lura E., Hazel L. and Roy T. (my grandfather), whom I have information on.

The following names and dates are from the family Bible:

Mable E. HUGHES - b. 8/17/1888 (SSDI shows died in April, 1981, last residence Skidmore).

Mary E. HUGHES - b. 2/26/1895 (SSDI shows died in January, 1975, last residence Skidmore)

Milton O. HUGHES - b. 12/18/1892 d. 7/22/1894

T.P. HUGHES - d. 8/2/1899

Mary A. HUGHES - d. 4/11/1906

Items in the Bible relating to Skidmore:

Obituary of Noah MAST, who died 2/7/1897 in his home, 4 miles southeast of Skidmore.

A letter to T.A. HUGHES, Skidmore, dated 1906 from Logan WILLARD of Willard Bros.Dry Goods in Persia.

Invitation to the wedding of Nora CLARK (daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. CLARK) to William A. MAST in their house near Skidmore on Jan 6, 1907.

Printed card to "Dear Friend..." from E.L. JEFFERS, Pastor, Skidmore, Mo., January 1, 1908

Hand written note that Elk Horn Rebekah Lodge organized 3/27/1908

Ribbon from "Rebekah District Convention, Skidmore, Missouri, February 4, 1909"

Blank petition for membership in IOOF Lodge 586 of Skidmore.

Invitation to the funeral services for Jennie (?), wife of Andy J. HAUS on Friday, March 25 (no year). The procession will leave from the house for St. Mary's Catholic Church. (may not be Skidmore)
