Searching for Civil War Markers and Monuments in Newton County

The Mary Whitney Phelps Tent No. 22, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, located in Springfield, Missouri, plans to publish a booklet on Civil War markers and monuments in southwest Missouri counties. These will include any Union or Confederate markers (but will NOT include Civil War cemetery headstones). If you know the location of such a marker in Newton County (no matter how prominent or obscure its location), please contact:

Connie Bogner at conniebogner@yahoo.com.
