Seeking information on William and Louisa W. (nee: Massey) and their prodigy (I have been showing that Louisa W. as Nancy Louise which is incorrect):
William was born in 1816 and Louisa W. in 1822 in SC, possibly in the Spartenburg area. The family movements as indicated by the children’s stats were from SC>GA>IL.>TX>MO>OIT>OK.
They had the following children:
Son: Emory A. born 1840 somewhere in GA. Married in 1860 in Weatherford, Parker Co., TX, listed in the 1870 census in Newton Co., MO, Franklin Township/Newtonia PO. 2 Jul 1870, same place in the 1880 census and in 1900 Pottawatomie Co., OIT. He purchased land in Roger Mills Co., OK and died there in 1915
Son: George, born somewhere in IL in 1848 and last shown living with his parents in the 1860 Parker Co., TX census
Son: William A, born somewhere in IL in 1853 (may be a twin to Louisa A), last shown with his parents in the 1870 census. After that he married a Martha E. and they moved to and are listed in the 1900 Pottawatomie Co., OK census.
Daughter, Louisa A., born somewhere in IL in 1853 (may be a twin to William A.) she stays with her parents until she marries a Fountain Basham in 1870 and shortly thereafter moves to AR.
Daughter, Martha L. may have been born on the trek from IL to TX, or was born in Weatherford, Parker Co., TX in 1856. She stays with her parents in the 1860, 1870, and 1880 census and then drops out of sight.
Son, Benjamin F, born in Parker Co., TX in 1859 and stays with his parents to the 1880 Newton Co., MO census and then drops out of sight.
And lastly a Son, John H. born about 1862 either in TX or on the way to MO, or in MO. He is shown in the 1870 Newton Co., MO census with his parents and after that I have no information.
Any information and dates and places and spouses, children, etc. will be greatly appreciated.
Tom Howell
Researching: Howell, Ray, Howard, Shumate, Packwood, Massey, Gordon, et al.
