I am not related to the Crews/Cruse or Hudson families. I responded to a request for a census lookup. However, I noticed that on the 1860 Census for Newton County, Van Buren Township, Elizabeth (not Nancy J.) Cruze, Age 27, is listed with three daughters: Sarah, Age 11; Nancy, Age 9, and Cynthia, Age 5. I do not know who the father of these children is. The only other Cruse listed in Newton County at this time is Solomon Cruse, who is living with the Henderson Jennings family. Possibly there was an older brother to Nancy J.(Jennings) and Solomon Cruse who married Elizabeth Hudson but was away from home in 1850 and dead by 1860. Just guessing! I will continue to look for these people and post a followup if I find anything. Good Luck.
