Linda, Thanks, Calhoun IS the county!!! From what I can see going over and over the census, there just might be the possiblility that Elizabeths family did not stay in MO long. AND Calhoun wasn't a county when she was young it would have been PIKE CO. There are all kind of possibilities...Mr. Winchester died...Mom headed back East- met somebody in Calhoun Co. and there Elizabeth was raised...not identified in census before 1850. By 1850 she was out of the "step" household and married to someone. That someone died and made her available at 26/27 to marry Joel ANDREWS.
There are all kinds of ways to twist her situation!!!
ALL I know is the info given:
Parents both born (?) in NC. Who knows if the question was understood to meant where were your parents born???
Elizabeth WAS born in MO.
There is an Elizabeth Winchester along with 3 other Winchester ladies-who married out of Calhoun Co. This Elizabeth married an Edward Cassy.....1852. I can't go anywhere with it!!
Thanks for your time and any direction!!!
