The Old Settlers Picnic at New Florence, MO was held annually for a number of years. The event was covered rather well my the Montgomery Standard newspaper of Montgomery City, MO. Microfilm copies of this newspaper, from 1880 to the present, can be found at the State Historical Society on the University of Missouri campus in Columbia, MO.

There was a newspaper printed in New Florence, the Montgomery County Leader, it can be found at the Historical Society also. It was printed of and on from 1892 through 1951.
