Hello Joanne,
I looked this E. C. Forbes in a death index (newspaper obits) and did not find him. I did, however, find an E. C. Forbis. My index does not contain any Forbes; only Forbis.
E. C. Forbis, age about 54, died 16 December 1844, published on 9 January 1855 in the Paris Mercury (Monroe Co. MO).
Mrs. Mary Ann (Bryan) Forbis, wife of E. C. Forbis, died 13 June 1880, published on both 6 July and 20 July 1880 in the Paris Mercury (Monroe Co. MO).
Miss Nannie C. Forbis, daughter of E. C. Forbis, age about 22, died 15 June 1882, published on 23 June 1882 in the Paris Mercury (Monroe Co. MO).
These are from death indexes and not the actual obituaries themselves. I do not have access to obits. Hope this helps. Good luck with your research.
