Looking for information regarding the husband of my half-3rd great-grandaunt, Catherine Unice Helm.
Josiah Jackson McGee was born Oct. 27, 1819 in Mercer Co., KY. He died in 1906 in Monroe Co., MO.
He married Catherine U. Helm, daughter of Joseph Helm and Nancy Wilcox on Sept. 2, 1846 in Monroe Co. She was born July 3, 1826 in Lincoln Co., KY and died in Monroe Co. in 1871.
Josiah J. and Catherine had, at least, six children: Alonzo Thomas, Sarah, Melissa, William J., Martha "Mattie" and Bettie.
Josiah is found in the 1880 Census still living in Jackson twp. with William, Mattie and Bettie along with a "new" wife, Polly.
Does anyone have a clue has to who this Polly was? She was said to have been born in about 1830 in MO and that her parents were both born in KY. Was she previously married and did she have any children of her own?
Any help that you might be able to offer would be extremely appreciated.
