States: Missouri: Monroe
I have a clipping (don't know from which Monroe Co. newspaper) of my gr-gr-gr-grandmother Jane W. (Greer)Wright's Jun 1866 or 1868 obituary which states that she was buried in the 'Baptist grave yard on the farm of Bird S. Webb'. Bird Webb's farm was in Marion Township according to the 1840 census, and I believe it was close to the border with Jackson Township.
Jane Greer married Walker Wright in 1842. Jane was the daughter of Rev. Thomas B. Bailey, a Primitive Baptist minister who brought his family from Virginia in 1840. He died in 1845 and was also buried on the Webb farm. I believe Walker Wright's father, Larkin Wright of Jackson township, who died between 1846-49, may have also been buried there. Has anyone ever heard of this old cemetery or know anything about the early Primitive Baptist congregation in Marion and Jackson townships?
