Doing follow-ups on Zachary Oakly. He is known as Z. W., Zack, Zach, Zacharia, Zachariah, Zackary, & Zuchay.

I thought he was son of a Moses L. Oakley & Bettie Painter, but I found that Zachariah Oakley's death cert in Person Co, NC, where he was born & raised. He was born 22 Jan 1850 and died 20 Feb 1932.

I believe it is possible he was a son of Thomas T. Oakley and Rebecca Vaughan, married in 1843, Person Co, NC. Z.W. was born in 1848, NC. On some ancestry.com family trees I read this Zackary died in 1933, but I checked Missouri death cert and couldn't find one. I also checked the Arkansas death Index with no luck finding him there.

There were a lot of Oakley families in the 1850 census of Person Co, NC. There is a possibility that Thomas T. Oakley is a son of Jesse (Jisse, Jepe) Oakley married to Catherine Cash. Jesse was born abt 1767 in NC.

This info is a lot of speculation from where the Oakley's were living in the 1840 - 1940 censuses. Other info found (marriage records, birth & death records, ancestry family trees) were used for this decision. Info from NC, TN, KY, & Pemiscot Co, MO records.

If anyone has info on this Oakley, please contact me. He is possibly an ancestor of my grandson, Joshua Allen Daniel Carmack.

Ty & regards,
Lois
