Popineau/Papineau/Papanaugh etc . . HELP

Has anyone come across the surname Popineau/Papineau/Papanaugh or any similar spelling? I have an ancestor with this name and I cannot find any trace of her family in any state. On census records she
listed her birthplace once as Arkansas and another time as
Louisiana. Her name was Lucinda Lucretia Papineau. Born about 1815, and married to William Walker. They lived in Polk County, Texas and had several children. This surname is rare in the U.S. I've found some in Canada, eastern USA and in Missouri. I am hoping for a breakthrough. Thanks fellow researchers.
