Yep, alot of that stuff was originally posted by me on Ancestry.com and the Collins mailing list. I've pretty much established everyone from Jacob to me. The problem I am having is establishing from Jacob to his father and so on.
The information I had received from my aunt before she died was that it was Harmon Collins, however I have found absolutely no proof that it was. In fact what made me question this was that my great great grandfather is buried in a cemetery where Stephen Collins descendants are and none of Harmon's. Not only that but my great grandfather died in Missouri and his body was transported to this cemetery in Arkansas when he could of just as well been buried with Harmon's children and grandchildren.
My assumption is that Jacob was a middle name or a rarely used first name during census taking time and that he is probably on a census under a different name.
I have tried every angle to find out who my great great great grandfather may have been but Jacob was so elusive it has become almost impossible. I've even taken a DNA test hoping that some connection could be established. Nothing on that front except for four names...Amos, Larkin, Vardy, Thomas...which is the same connection to the David 1750 line which would also include Harmon, Stephen, Solomon, William, etc.
