Hello Gary,

I am a descendant of the Goreville Catos and have been doing research on them too. I may be mistaken but perhaps instead of Jessie you might consider Jesify, short for Josephine F. Kelley (b. 17 July 1850, IL) and William Cato (b. 26 Nov 1847, MO) married 18 Nov 1869, Johnson Co., IL.

Perhaps you can help me, because I know nothing of his family beyond Illinois other than he was born in Missouri. It appears he was orphaned, and lived with Benjamin Hubbard in 1860. I can't find him in 1850 or 1870, perhaps he had an unknown middle name. I am researching against theories that the Hubbards or his wife whose maiden name was Row, are relatives but so far have found no link.

Many thanks for any advice. Kind Regards, Mischelle Webb Hodge
