Thank you so much for your help. I see what you are saying...there are two Absalom Beavers that were born about the same time in Indiana. My ancestor moved to Missouri and got married, and the other one remained in Indiana, at least through the time that he mustered out in June of 1864. They could be from the same extended family...

I sent what you wrote to my relative and this is what she sent me:

There is a Daniel Beaver in Indiana. I sent you his second wife's probate which lists their child, her 2 daughters from previous relationship(s), and Daniel and Christiana's sons. I have more information from deed records regarding Daniel's land in Indiana. It will be the weekend before I can send
that info.

CENSUS: 1800 Salisbury, Rowan Co., NC. George Beaver - 30010/0010
1810 Carolina, Rowan Co., NC. George Beaver - 130011/30010
1820 Ross, Butler Co., OH. George Beaver - 310101/02010
Isabell Bowers listed next.
1830 St Clair Twp., Butler Co., OH. Daniel Beever -
George Beever listed next. NOTE: female, age 15-20
& male, age 10-15 (b1815/1820) may not be children of Daniel Beaver.
If they are, they would have to be a previous marriage as Daniel and Christiana marry in 1823.

LAND: 17 April 1833 - Hamilton Co., IN. Range 5E, Twp 17N, Sect 9 - E1/2NE1/4
80acres. Daniel Beaver of Butler Co., OH.

Our Absalom Beaver was not in the Civil War as far as I can find. His brother-in-laws, the Bashfords, definitely participated. Absalom Beaver is living in MO during the Civil War.

NOTE: General Index to Guardianships. Hamilton County, Indiana Circuit Court.
Date of Letters - 10 May 1841; Name of Guardian - Robert P. Kimberlin; Names of
Sureties - Henry Beaver; Names of Wards - Daniel & Absalom Beaver; Ages of Wards
- Daniel 11 yrs (Oct 6 1840 - 6 is marked out) & ABSALOM 8 yrs (Dec 25 1840);
Penalty of Bonds - $200.00; Proceedings of Court, Date of Settlement -
Appointment & C - E.O.B. 84

CENSUS: 1840
1850 ??? Hancock Co., IL. Absolum B., age 18, IN listed w/
Mary Manifold, age 64, TN.

Phyllis, hopefully you can make sense of all of the above. I do have a copy of the probate letter, which is three pages long, but was not sure how I could attach it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
