This cemetery is NOT to be confused with the PIERCE CEMETERY in District 15, Dyer Co in Trimble.
The Pierce Cemetery in District 7 appears to be an abandoned/deserted cemetery with few evident signs that there is a cemetery except possibly if you view one of the sites suggested below.
I first learned of the cemetery on www.tn-roots.com/tndyer. The webmaster indicated to me that it was identified on the site from a Google map.
This cemetery is also identified on Find A Grave. The Find A Grave person told me that the cemetery was placed on their listing of cemeteries on Find A Grave from a list obtained 16-17 years ago from the Utah Historical Society when Find A Grave originated. The Society informs me that they no longer maintain a list of cemeteries outside of Utah. The Find A Grave people are still searching for any existing records of this cemetery.
But also the U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) has identified the cemetery. If you Click on the site below, and on the right center of your screen, Click on "satellite" to bring up a satellite photograph and use the pylon or scale on the left of your screen to enlarge for easier viewing, you will see an egg-shaped greensward in the center of a cultivated field.
I'm not sure if this USGS site will come through in this message.
In other words, I am attempting to determine the time frame of when and by whom this cemetery was established and to determine if there is any record existing of who might be buried there.
I descend from two Dyer Co Pierce lines so it naturally is of great interest to me and my family.
Any suggestions or information you could provide would be a significant break through.
