Halls of Springfield, MO (& N. Ireland)
I recently purchased a diary which originally belonged to a J.T. Jones of Springfield, Missouri (1871).However, it was later reused by members of the Hall family for notations ca. 1895-1907.The Halls appear to have lived in Springfield also, since the names of streets they lived on seem to match current street names in Springfield (see below).
The diary contains information of genealogical value relating to the Halls.I have made minor corrections to spelling where it was obviously in error.Because this record mentions the marriage and children of Matthew Hall and Ellen Fryer, and not those of Matthew’s siblings, I imagine that this record was kept by Matthew Hall.

There are also notations about moving and the rentals of homes.Assuming that Matthew Hall made the notes, it seems that these would be the temporary addresses of his family. It appears that they also took in boarders, because there are notations about rentals to other individuals. The following notes are not necessarily in the order they appear in the diary; I have put them in chronological order.
