Missouri Yarbrough from Civil War
My mother is a Yarbrough from Pine Bluff, AR who has spent most of her life in New Orleans and Shreveport, LA. I am from a small town in Mississippi called Port Gibson where a Civil War battle was fought. Today I noticed a gravestone in Confederate Row in the Port Gibson cemetery for a William Yarbrough of the Landis Battery, Missouri. The Battery was assembled in St. Joseph, MO at the beginning of the war. Just wanted anyone with a connection to William to know that he was killed at the Battle of Port Gibson, MS on May 1, 1863 and is interred there in Wintergreen Cemetery.
