I have recently begun tracing my family roots and have found one of my ancestors to be Isabella B Terwilliger born about 1852 in Illinois. I believe she is the "Biddy Tidwilliger" (transcription error I believe) who married Samuel Jackson Bonifield in 1869 in Masaac Co Illinois listed in the book "Descendants of Gregory Bonnifield (1726-1794)". The book lists two children they had; Charles M Bonifield b abt 1872 and Mattie May Bonifield b abt 1874. Mattie May Bonifield married Charles Holland (my gg-grandfather in Scott Co Missouri). Samuel Jackson Bonifield is said to have died in 1879. I have a found a marriage record for Samuel Jackson Bonifield and Isabella B "Terwelegan" (again a transcription error) in Masaac Co Illinois on Nov 6, 1869. I found this on ancestry.com with the following source: "This record can be found at the County Court Records, Film # 0961837 & 0963668 - 0963669. " I found Samuel J Bonifield and "Isabel" in the 1870 Masaac Co Illinois federal census. Isabella Terwilliger must have remarried before 1880 as I have found her in the 1880 Mississippi Co Missouri census as Isabella Anderson with the head of household being J A Anderson. Living with them are the two Bonifield children; Charles M Bonifield and Mattie May Bonifield. There are also two Anderson children; Wils and William Andersion who appear to have both been born abt 1879 (twins?). Does anyone have any information on this Isabella B Terwilliger? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dennis Notify Administrator about this message?
