I was told this Thomas A. Busby (died 1943) was born out of wedlock to William Lewis Busby (b. 1851) and a Miss Madison (perhaps Mary C.?). The mother may have died when he was an infant. T.A. Busbywas raised by his grandparents Thomas Alderson Busby & Mary Victoria Hamer. He is found in this household in 1880 in Camden, De Kalb Co, Missouri.
There is some confusion about his birthdate-ranging from 1870-1875 depending on source -- and I don't have a definitive answer.
Thomas Alderson Busby married Jessie E. Trower 5 Jan 1897 in Gentryville, Gentry, Missouri [MO Marriages]
They had three children:
Harley Thomas Busby b 2 Jun 1897
Harvey Alderson Busby b 2 Jun 1897 (twin)
William Lewis Busby b 22 Jun 1903
By the way, I would appreciate hearing from anyone descended from the grandparents, above:
Thomas A. Busby (b.1826 -28 in Virginia) and his wife Mary V. Hamer (or Hammer, born 23 Oct 1830 in Ohio) who were married 22 Dec 1848 in Hancock Co, Indiana.
