Christopher Rafferty
Looking for information on Christopher Rafferty born about 1819 in Tennessee and was married to Mira (last name unknown) who was also born in Tennessee about 1824. They had a total of six children:
--Thomas Franklin Rafferty born about 1839 in Tennessee
--John C. Rafferty born about 1847 in Arkansas
--Lucy Ann Rafferty born about 1849 in Missouri
--Martha Jane Rafferty
--William T. Rafferty
--Mary Elizabeth Rafferty born about 1859 in Missouri
Christopher and Mira can be found in the 1850 Census in Prairie Township, Newton Arkansas and in the 1860 Census they are found in Miatt Township, Howell, Missouri. 1850 and 1860 are the only two censuses where I’ve found Christopher and Mira Rafferty.
I’ve found a C. Rafferty that enlisted in the Confederacy on 10 February 1862 and was detailed as a Teamster on 15 April 1862. C Rafferty was a private in the 4th Regiment Infantry Volunteers; Company B. He was captured on 23 August 1863 in Nowell County Missouri and on 6 November 1863 he arrived at Camp Marton Indianapolis Indiana. Then on 22 March 1964 C Rafferty arrived at fort Delaware (Pea Patch Island in the Delaware River), Delaware from Camp Morton. Then on 18 September 1864 C Rafferty was sent to Aikens Landing Virginia for prisoner exchange. And 1864 is where the trail ends Christopher and C Rafferty.
Questions: What is Christopher’s parent’s name and where did they lived? What is Mira’s maiden name and who were her parents.
