ROBINSONS OF Barry County, MO
I am looking for relatives of the Elijah Robinson family, who left Barry (Barrie) County, MO in 1861 and moved to Millican (Brazos County), TX and later to Austin (Travis County), TX. Family members included Elijah, his wife, Amelia, and their four children, 14-year-old Louis, Martha, age 12, daughter Para, 9, and five-year-old Amelia, who was crippled. Traveling with them was Amelia's sister, Mrs. Bessie Jackson, whose husband was in the Confederate Army, and her two children. Elijah was apparently a well-to-do citizen who owned a farm, a mercantile store and a mill for grinding wheat or corn there in Barry County. When they came to Millican, they stayed with relatives named Kizzine.
In 1871, this Robinson family moved to Bosque County, TX to join Elijah's brother, Wesley, in farming endeavors and gin operations there. Elijah's daughter, Martha Robinson Ezell, widow of Coriolanus Ezell, and her two children, Mary, and Umbarto Desaix Ezell, moved to the community of Kimball in Bosque County with her parents. Other possible Robinson relatives in Bosque County at that time included Loll and Martha Robinson. Anyone familiar with any of these?
