Same year and Township theres a Cyrus Gammon,38,Va and wife Margaret,34,Va, this may be a brother to William...1880 Lafayette Co.,Mo.S.Washington Twsp.,Judge William T.Gammon,53,judge prob court,Va-Va-Va-,Elizabeth A.,51,wife,WVa-Va-Va-,Masametta,22,dau.,WVa-Va-Va,Ella F.,21,dau.,WVa-Va-Va,Thomas E.,20,son,farmer,WVa-Va-Va,William L.,17,son,farmer,Va-Va-Va,Minnie A.,dau.,Ga-Va-Va,Willi P.Slaven,18,dau.,Mo-Va-Va...I'm not absolutely certain of the ages in the 1880 because of the old fancy cursive writing of the enumerator, "Willi Slaven" could be older. But here again is the Slaven surname and Elizabeth was supposedly a Slaven. So could Willi actually have been a niece ? If age is correct she couldn't be a true daughter of William. Could she be a step-daughter and blood daughter of Elizabeth by a previous marriage? Minnie A.'s age is 13 on the 1880, and b.Georgia, parents b.Virginia. This corresponds with the old Lafayette County bio. The 4 named in 1880 as being born West Virginia are wrong. West Virginia was not a state till 1863. But geographically speaking they would be right in 1880. You may be able to find more on earlier Gammons by searching Bath Co.,Va.records, it was parent county for Pocahontas Co.,WV. Hope this helps a little more in your research...Al
