They had not proceeded far over the burning waste till their water became exhausted, and as none could be found there, great distress ensued. One of the party, TOWNSEND, started ahead to look for water, and succeeded in obtaining it, but on his return found his comrades dead. Their names were: -Daniel HOLDEN, formerly of Brown's Flat, Sonora, from Philadelphia, Penn., about 45 years old. -Wm. DEWEY, from Washoe, formerly from Missouri, about 25 years of age. He had been in the Washoe war of last year and was shot in the side. TOWNSEND lost the animals, but was able to make his way back to Potosi on foot. Notify Administrator about this message?
