From "The Tomah Chief" 1859. Good Sale.....Mr. Solomon Peters disposed of 80 acreas of land lying beyond Jacksonville, and about five miles from this place for $1,000 in cash. Not bad for these hard times! Mr. Peters intends now to pitch his tent somewhere in Missouri or Kansas. May he meet with the success he deserves. (Not a relative)...
