Hires Family, owned a "Roadhouse"??
My great uncle recently told me that his grandfather had owned a "roadhouse" or a fishing resort in or around Ripley County around 1920. His last name would have been Hires, he had two daughters, Roberta Cecelia, and Cinderella (Cinda) and a son Cleveland (Cleve). When the children's mother died in the early 1900's Cinda was sent to live with two sisters (not related to the family) in Texas. I am looking for ANYTHING that would point me to a first name of the father, the mother's name, anything. I can't find them on a census of either Butler or Ripley counties. I do know that the father died in Roberta's home in 1927 or so of a stroke. Can anyone help? Any ideas?? Thank you
