Your post is dated 2003 and this is 2008, You probably already have the information that you need, but I thought I would reply anyway.
Dr. Samuel Dobbs Meriwether is in my family line. The information that I gathered was from Ancestry.com., so nothing is documented except by U S census reports.
Samuel Dobbs Meriwether b.7 Jan 1829 Virginia and died 12 Aug 1888 His parents were George Meriwether and Elizabeth Ann Dobbs.
Samuel married Mary Ellen Ehrnhart was b. abt 1839 in Indiana and died 17 Jan 1902 in Johnson City, Maries, Missouri. I don't know who her parents were.
Samuel and Mary Ellen Meriwether's children:
Mary Josephine Meriwether b.Dec 1861 in Maysville, Benton, Arkansas and died in Siloam Springs, Benton, Arkansas; married John Henderson Miller (my line).
Maybelle Meriwether b. 1863 in Vichy, Maries, Missouri.
Charles W. Meriwether b. 28 Jul 1865 in Vichy, Missouri
Bonaparte Lee Meriwether b. 1867 in Missouri
Peter Waldo Meriwether 18 Apr 1869 in Vichy, Missouri
Mary A Meriwether b.6 Sep 1871 in Vichy, Missouri
Frances "Fannie" Meriwether b. 26 Feb 1875 in Vichy, Missouri
Anna "Annie" Meriwether b. 26 Feb 1875 in Vichy, Missouri
Minnie Meriwether b. 26 Feb 1875 in Vichy, Missouri
Thomas Evert Meriwether b abt 1879 in Vichy, Missouri.
