Linda,

I have been to the graves in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery at Higdon. The old church stood until about 10-15 years ago when it was torn down by this non denom christian facility.

The Mt Gilead Cemetery at Higdon has been in use as a cemetery since the early 1860's later 1850's It was known early on as Hardscrabble or the White Family Cemetery.

The cemetery is generally decently kept, the church across the road maintains it but not doesnt keep the stones well.
All of James & Lilly White's family in there have tombstones. Jessaline who was your grandmothers sister is buried there as well as several brothers.
